Education
Cookeville-Putnam County is the educational center for the region. It is home to Tennessee Tech University with more than 10,000 students, community colleges, technology centers, and Cookeville High School — the only non-metro school with a International Baccalaureate Program in Tennessee.
Putnam County is home to about 550 people who hold Ph.D.s and Tennessee Tech is consistently ranked among the best universities in academics and value.
