- Algood Community Center has a quilt-in 10 a.m. to noon Tuesdays and Thursdays. For information, call 537-3447.
- Algood Lions Club has a fish fry 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. the first Friday of each month (except July and August) at Algood Community Center. Cost for adults is $7, and for children $4.
- Buffalo Valley Lending Library has a birthday lunch (for area residents with birthdays that month) at noon the second Wednesday of each month at the Community Center. Free refreshments are served.
- Cookeville Rescue Mission holds its monthly benefit gospel singing 7 p.m. the first Friday of each month.
- Cookeville Senior Citizens Center, 186 S. Walnut Ave., hosts a dance featuring the Split Decision band each Thursday at 6:30 p.m. Tickets $5. Drawing for free admission. Bring finger food. Casual dress. For information, call 526-9318.
- Dodson Branch Community Center hosts a fish dinner 5 p.m. the first Saturday of each month, with a silent auction, cake walk and live band. The cost for adults is $6, and for children 12 and under $3.
- Historic Sutton’s General Store in Granville features live bluegrass music at 6 p.m. every fourth Saturday. Admission is free. For information, call 858-3717.
- Little Opry is held every second Saturday night of each month at 6 p.m. at Fox Elementary School Cafeteria Building, 707 School Dr., near the Jackson County Rescue Squad Building in Gainesboro. The music program includes country, gospel and bluegrass. Admission is free. Concessions are available.
- Nameless Community Center has a covered dish social 6:30 p.m. the first Thursday of each month.
- Silver Point Community Center features the Cumberland Country Band 6:30 to 9 p.m. every Thursday. Concessions are available, and admission is free.
- Sparta Skating Rink holds a Christian skating party 7 to 9 p.m. the last Thursday of each month with Christian music and a short devotional time. For information, call 510-7388.
- Twice Told Tales Bookstore, a used book sale hosted by The Friends of the Library, is held the first Saturday of each month from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Putnam County Library.
