Putnam County Parks, Recreation & Conservation Department

Mission Statement: The Putnam County Parks, Recreation and Conservation Department strives to offer its citizens activities and programs that are broad in scope. Well-maintained facilities and parks are also considered a high priority of the department; we want our patrons to experience safe and enjoyable surroundings as they participate in recreational opportunities.

VOLLEYBALL
A Ladies Volleyball League is offered at the Cookeville Community Center in the fall and winter on Monday nights. Call 520-7765 for cost and registration information. The Community Center is open Tuesdays & Thursdays 1:00 - 3:00 p.m. for coed volleyball; ladies only Wednesdays noon - 2:00 p.m. The cost for participation is $1.00 per person. This opportunity helps to develop skills in volleyball and is a fun way of exercise! There is also one outdoor volleyball court available for play (not lighted).

BASKETBALL
A Men's Basketball League is conducted on Tuesday and Thursday evenings in the fall and winter. Call 520-7765 for entry fee and registration information. There is one outdoor basketball court available for play (not lighted).

GOLF
Junior golf clinics and tournaments are held each summer for boys and girls ages 6-17. Ironwood Golf Course is the host. Call 520-7765 for further information.

OPEN WALKING
The Cookeville Community Center is open Monday-Friday from 7:00-12:00 noon for inside or outside walking. If you want to walk in a safe, comfortable environment, our center is for you!

TENNIS
COOKEVILLE COMMUNITY CENTER - Six well lit and maintained tennis courts.
Automatic tennis ball machine available 7:00-4:00 Monday-Friday
Restroom facilities available O Practice backboard on site.

payable to Putnam County Parks & Recreation $20.00 per person
(Entitles member to membership card, free use of tennis ball machine, practice backboard, well maintained courts, open access to court play (unless special event or activity is scheduled), and reduced rate for annual summer tournament.

SWIMMING

Cookevile Community Center Pool & Kiddie Pool

Entry Fee: $4.00 for adults, $3.00 for children ages four to 12, and for ages three and under $1.00.

Season Passes: Season passes are available for $65 for the first adult, $35 for each additional family member (child or adult) and $50 for seniors age 55 and older. Season passes are honored at both the Cookeville and Monterey pools. Passes for children ages four to 12 are $35. Children under 10 must be accompanied by adult or by a teen at least 16 years of age.

Pool Rental: The pool can be rented for $100 for 3 hours. The rental fee includes the use of two certified lifeguards, a large picnic pavilion, grill, games room and volleyball court. A $25 fee will be charged for each additional 15 swimmers after the first 50. Pools can be reserved by calling 931-520-7765 from Monday through Sunday from 6 to 9 p.m. No rentals on Wednesdays.

Sunday, 1 to 5 p.m.

Passes are honored at both the Cookeville and Monterey pools. Passes for children ages four to 12 are $25. Children under 10 must be accompanied by adult or by a teen at least 16 years of age.

The rental fee includes the use of two certified lifeguards, picnic tables, and the volleyball court and playground facilities located across the street from the pool at Whiteaker Park. A $25 fee will be charged for each additional 15 swimmers after the first 50. Pools can be reserved by calling 931-520-7765 from Monday through Sunday from 6 to 9 p.m. No rentals on Wednesdays.
